void utils::appendFileContents(hid_t srcFile, hid_t dstFile)

Append every extensible dataset in one HDF5 file onto the correspondingly-named dataset of the same group in another.

Recurses one level into each of srcFile’s own top-level groups (not further); every extensible dataset directly inside one of those groups (per isExtensibleDataset()) is appended via appendDatasetContents(), every other dataset is left alone (assumed already identical, fixed, shared metadata).

Parameters:

  • srcFile – Handle to the file to read from

  • dstFile – Handle to the file to append onto – must already contain a group/dataset structure matching srcFile’s own, built by an identical prior call to whatever created srcFile
