auto feedback::windFluxes(const specsyn::Specsyn::StarData &props, const Winds *winds, double feh) -> std::array<double, 3>
Stellar wind mass, momentum, and energy fluxes of a single star.
The single per-star calculation shared by every population that reports wind fluxes: core::Cluster’s stochastic and non-stochastic stars, and core::Galaxy’s field stars and purely continuous population.
- Parameters:
props – Stellar properties, as for Winds::vWind()
winds – The wind calculator to take the wind velocity from (e.g. SimControls::winds()); may be null, in which case the wind velocity is taken to be 0, so pDot and eDot are 0 but mDot is not
feh – The star’s metallicity [Fe/H]
- Returns:
{ mDot, pDot, eDot }: the star’s mass loss rate, in Msun/yr, read directly from props; its wind momentum flux mDot * v_wind, in g cm s^-2; and its wind energy flux (1/2) mDot v_wind^2, in erg s^-1, where v_wind = winds->vWind(props, feh), in cm/s. If mDot is 0, all three are 0 and vWind() is not called at all, since some wind models (e.g. WRwindModel::lOverc_) give an infinite velocity there
